Igniters

As a National Research Council Postdoc at the AFRL, Dr. Jacobsen - now president of GoHYPERSONIC Inc. - developed several igniters for hydrocarbon-fueled scramjet combustor applications. These igniters have been tested in several different supersonic wind tunnels and scramjet test combustors around the country.

GoHYPERSONIC is now selling DC plasma torches in addition to setup, data acquisition, and operational services to the aerospace community. Hypersonic Engine and Vehicle Design


Plasma-Torch Igniters

Eco - the inward turning scramjet engine/ hypersonic waverider vehicle design, integration, and optimization tool. This suite of tools was developed under an Air Force Phase I SBIR contract. Eco incorporates several engine component flowline design tools in addition to supersonic combustor performance analysis using RJPA. The exterior vehicle flowline design utilizes a planform-compliant osculating waverider flowfield routine in addition to several other aerodynamic predictive methods incorporated into Eco.
